The campus buzzed with fluttering red flags, color‐ ful balloons, and eye-catching slogans. The 2024 freshmen, primarily from Fujian Province with a few from other areas, entered the univer‐ sity with dreams in their hearts, beginning their new life journey. At 7:30 a.m., registration commenced at the Puzhao Grand Auditorium on the First Campus and the Hechang Teaching Building on the Third Campus. The Academic Affairs Department, School Office, Student Affairs De‐ partment, Finance Department, General Affairs Department, Laboratory and Information Man‐ agement Department, and the Youth League Committee were fully prepared to provide onestop registration services for the continuous stream of newcomers. Each col‐ lege also showcased its unique character by creatively fostering an inviting atmosphere for newcomers, featuring signature walls, photo boards, and other warm touches. During the freshman orientation period, the presidents of YEU and deans of various colleges visited the registration sites to oversee the logistics and support efforts. They also toured student dormitories to inspect facilities and engaged in conversations with the new‐ comers to understand their needs and concerns about their living environments, aiming to ad‐ dress any inconveniences in the future. They expressed their care for the students, encourag‐ ing them to make the most of their four years in college, work diligently, and strive for per‐ sonal growth and entrepreneurship, as empha‐ sized in YEU's motto. They also urged students to expand their horizons, enrich their knowl‐ edge, and sharpen their skillsso they can rise to the challenges of our time and stand ready to shoulder the responsibility of national prog‐ ress and revitalization.
